Bon dia. The day before yesterday we reached the Spanish boarder and in San Sebastian we went a bit north to follow the coast. Images taken by an Ipad can never show the beauty of this fantastic landscape, but I hope they will give some kind of impression anyway.
The Basque part of Spain has two languages which also shows on the signs. Most of the words has no similarity with Spanish, actually they seem more like a mix of northern language and English. We spoke with locals and they say that no one have discovered the origion of the language, but they are of the impression that it should be the oldest known language of Europe.
At the moment I am drinking coffe at a café in a small town called Plentzia. Soon we head on to Bilbao and really look forward to pass the old and famous bridge passing the river. Last a picture of my car in front of a cliff near the beautifil town Zamaia. He is doing very well and yet have no problems climing the mountains. I was a little worried that the box on the roof would make it use more diesel, but it seems to be only between a 1/4 to 1/2 liter pr 100 km. In average it drives 18-20 kilometres on a liter. So the fuel budget holds!
